📜 Terms of Service

Last updated: 23 July 2026

1. Who we are

Glowlings ("the game", "we", "us") is operated by Barney Roddis, based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at [email protected] or through the in-game feedback page.

2. Your account

  • You need a Google account to sign in, and you must be at least 13 years old to create a Glowlings account. Younger children may only play with a parent or guardian's permission and supervision.
  • We ask for your date of birth once, at signup, to keep your experience age-appropriate. It can't be changed later, so please enter it accurately.
  • Keep your account secure. You're responsible for what happens on your account, and your username must not be offensive, misleading, or impersonate anyone.
  • One account per person. Don't share, sell, or transfer accounts.

3. Virtual items and currencies

Glowlings contains virtual currencies (Motes, Gold, Shards) and virtual items (Glowlings, cards, packs, boosts, upgrades). For all of them:

  • Virtual items and currencies are a limited licence to use features of the game. You don't own them, they have no monetary value, and they can't be sold, transferred, or exchanged for real money or anything of real-world value — inside or outside the game.
  • Our randomness promise: items with randomised contents (like Glowling packs and mystery-box boosts) can only ever be bought with Motes. Motes are earned by playing — they can never be bought with real money or exchanged from any other currency. This means there is never a real-money purchase with a chance-based outcome in Glowlings.
  • Anything bought with real money (when real-money purchases launch) is always deterministic — you see exactly what you're getting before you buy.
  • We may adjust, rebalance, add, or retire virtual items and currencies to keep the game fun and fair. We'll be sensible about it, but game balance changes are part of an evolving game.
  • If we ever permanently shut the game down, virtual items and currencies end with it. They exist only inside Glowlings.

4. Purchases

  • Prices are shown clearly before you buy, in pounds sterling for real-money purchases.
  • Digital purchases are delivered instantly to your account. See our Refunds policy for your rights, including what happens to the 14-day cancellation right when you choose instant delivery.
  • A payment method may only be used by its owner or with the owner's clear permission. If you're under 18, always ask the account-holder (for example a parent) before buying anything.

5. Fair play

  • No cheating, exploiting bugs, automating play, or tampering with the game's client or API. If you find a bug, please report it — don't farm it.
  • Names visible to other players (usernames, league names) must be appropriate for a game played by younger players. We filter them and may change or remove names that slip through.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, remove wrongly-obtained items, or roll back exploited rewards. For serious or repeated breaches this can include losing purchased items; where the law gives you rights in relation to purchases, those rights are unaffected.

6. The service

Glowlings is a live game: features change, events come and go, and occasionally we're offline for maintenance or things break. We work to keep the game available and your progress safe, but we can't promise uninterrupted, error-free service.

7. Ending things

You can stop playing or delete your account at any time from account settings. We may close accounts for breach of these terms (see Fair play), or with reasonable notice if we discontinue the game.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer or excludes liability we can't lawfully exclude (like liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence). Otherwise, our liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the issue arose. Glowlings is entertainment — we're not liable for losses that aren't a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms.

9. Changes and law

We may update these terms as the game evolves; significant changes will be flagged in-game, and the date at the top always tells you the current version. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales (or your local UK courts if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland). Your local consumer rights always still apply.
